Tak is a seasoned engineer who has designed and managed structural engineering projects for more than twenty-five years. His professional experience began in the field of forensic engineering, evaluating failures in existing building structures and determining cause, extent of damage, and appropriate repair methods. This instilled in Tak a heightened sensitivity to the importance of sound structural detailing practice and quality assurance/quality control methods.
Tak is a Founding Partner and President of the company, responsible for providing strategic leadership to institute long-range goals, strategies, plans and policies, and to establish the high engineering standards and production quality of the firm. In addition to his leadership role, Tak is also actively involved in management of project teams and oversight of project structural engineering design and production.
Rik is a practicing structural engineer with professional degrees in architectural engineering and architecture. He was awarded the Henry Adams Certificate of Merit for Excellence in the Study of Architecture by the national chapter of the American Institute of Architects and is recognized professionally for his work on projects where structural systems, forms, and detailing are expressly integral to building aesthetics and architecture. Rik has been a visiting juror and lecturer at college of engineering schools of architecture and presents structural engineering topics for AIA continuing education seminars.
Rik is a Founding Partner and active manager of the company, responsible for overseeing ongoing business operations, as well as business development and marketing. In addition to his leadership role, Rik is also actively involved in management of project teams and oversight of project structural engineering design and production.
