Arrive East Austin is a 5-story, 83-key hotel with 4 levels of guest rooms over a mixed-use ground floor level that houses two restaurants, a coffee shop, three bars, and street level retail spaces.  Its unique structure makes use of the sculptural nature of architecturally exposed, cast-in-place concrete to create dynamically undulating facades and a visual illusion of shifting floor plates to create balconies and covered porches for hotel guests. The complexity of ever-changing floor slab edge conditions around the building, combined with dramatic cantilevers and long spans required creativity in structural design problem solving and reinforcing steel detailing that is unparalleled in most concrete buildings.

Arrive Hotel further included an adaptive re-use component by rescuing and remodeling a pre-existing, 100-year-old clay brick and timber warehouse building to be an integrated part of the new mixed-use hotel development. Parking for the hotel is underground, requiring temporary excavation retention systems and basement walls to be designed to stabilize and avoid undermining adjacent existing building foundations.
