Owner: Oracle

As part of the second phase of construction for Oracle’s new corporate headquarters campus, specialty metals fabricator Sarabi Studio delivered three unique and sweeping custom steel shade canopies as part of a deferred design subcontract for the general contractor, Ryan Companies.

On behalf of the specialty fabricator, Leap! performed structural engineering design services and assisted with preparation of detailed fabrication drawings and structural engineering design calculation submittals for each of the three, unique shade trellis structures. Two canopies were installed on the building’s sixth-floor roof terrace and one at the building’s primary entrance at the ground floor. To facilitate high standards of quality assurance and to simplify rigging and erection, the shade structures were carefully designed and detailed to be shop fabricated and delivered in three pieces each, to be assembled in the field and require only very limited, pre-qualified field welding.
